Maria Restituta was born on May 1, 1894 in Czech Republic. She died on Mar 30, 1943 (age 48). A nun and nurse who refused to comply with orders from the Nazi authority to remove crucifixes from the hospital where she worked and was consequently executed as a martyr for her faith.
When she was two years old, the family relocated to Vienna. After she resisted the orders of the Nazi authority to remove crucifixes from the walls of the hospital where she worked, she was taken into custody and executed by being beheaded. Her father was a shoemaker in the Austro-Hungarian empire when it was still in existence.
