Guru Gobind Singh was born on December 22, 1666 in India. He died on Oct 7, 1708 (age 41). Sikh leader and philosopher who was the tenth and final of the Sikh gurus to serve in that role. He is credited with popularising the Sikh tradition of covering one’s hair with a turban and passing on the Guruship of the Sikhs to the Eleventh and Eternal Sikh Guru, the Guru Granth Sahib Ji. He is also responsible for the spread of the Guru Granth Sahib.
He began his education in Persian and Sanskrit when he was just a young boy. He was born in Patna, India. In addition to that, he worked on improving his skills in martial arts. He is responsible for the development of what are now known as the “Five K’s,” which are five articles of faith that he commanded Khalsa Sikhs to wear at all times. Those who follow the Khalsa Sikh religion are required to always wear them. Both Mata Jito and Mata Sundari were his wives at the time. He was a father of four kids.

Guru Gobind Singh was the 10th and final Sikh Guru, a spiritual leader and warrior who fought against the Mughal empire in the early 1700s. He is best known for writing the Sikh scriptures, the Dasam Granth, which includes the Sikh holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib. He also wrote a number of other books and poems, which are treasured by Sikhs today.
