Edmund Szoka was born on September 14, 1927 in United States. He died on Aug 20, 2014 (age 86). He was a prelate of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States and served as the Archbishop of Detroit from 1981 to 1990.
During the time when the Korean War was going on, he was a chaplain at both St. Mary’s Hospital and K. I. Sawyer Air Force Base. In 1997, he was honoured by being given the title of President Emeritus of the Pontifical Commission for the State of Vatican City. After he retired, he stayed in Detroit so that he could continue to provide paternal help.
