Bour Kry was born on January 10, 1945 in Cambodia. Seventh Supreme Patriarch of the Thammayut order, which is comprised of Buddhist monks from Cambodia.
In 1963, he was given the ordination required to become a Buddhist monk. He has made efforts to educate people about AIDS and has pushed for the monastery to get more involved in the process of disseminating knowledge. He never tied the knot.
